- Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) has launched Truth+ on Roku, Samsung and LG smart TVs, offering live and on-demand conservative-aligned content as an alternative to mainstream media.
- The platform features family-friendly programming including news, political commentary, faith-based shows, documentaries and Spanish-language options, with advanced features like DVR and catch-up viewing.
- Truth+ operates on a proprietary Content Delivery Network (CDN), reducing reliance on third-party tech providers to avoid censorship – a key appeal for its audience.
- Since his 2021 bans from X (Twitter), Facebook and Instagram, Trump has primarily used Truth Social due to an exclusivity agreement requiring his posts to stay there for six hours before cross-posting.
- Despite Elon Musk's financial support and invitations for Trump to return to X, the president remains inactive there, sticking with Truth Social to maintain control over his messaging.
Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) has expanded its streaming platform Truth+, bringing its full library of live and on-demand content to Roku TVs, Samsung connected TVs (2022 and newer) and LG smart TVs to provide an alternative to mainstream media and Big Tech-controlled platforms.
Truth+ bills itself as a hub for "family-friendly programming" catering to audiences seeking news, political commentary and entertainment from a conservative perspective. The platform is operated by TMTG, the same company behind Truth Social and the upcoming financial services brand Truth.Fi.
The service offers a mix of live TV, faith-based content, weather updates, documentaries and opinion-driven shows, alongside a growing video-on-demand library. Advanced features include live TV rewind with visual thumbnails, seven-day catch-up viewing, network DVR capabilities and a Spanish-language interface option. (Related:

Already available on iOS, Android, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and web browsers, the expansion to major smart TV platforms significantly broadens its reach. Users can now download the Truth+ app directly from their TV's app store and log in via QR code, passcode or Truth Social credentials.
Truth+ is built on a custom-designed Content Delivery Network (CDN) using proprietary servers, routers and software. The company claims this setup allows the platform to operate independently from third-party tech providers, reducing the risk of censorship or service disruptions – a key selling point for its audience. The service is currently in beta testing, with TMTG collecting user feedback as it scales operations.
Trump has exclusive deal with Truth Social
President Donald Trump was banned from X (formerly known as Twitter) in 2021, following the Jan. 6 false flag Capitol riot. Later that year, he launched his own platform called Truth Social through TMTG. The platform sought to "end Big Tech's assault on free speech by opening up the internet and giving people their voices back."
Since then, the platform gained prominence as Trump's primary online megaphone after his bans from other social media sites. Meaning, platforms like Truth+ are capitalizing on demand for ideologically distinct content, as audiences grow increasingly skeptical of mainstream media.
This explains why despite the vocal support and staggering donations of tech mogul Elon Musk to Trump's political action committee,
the president still refuses to post on X. His absence stems from an exclusive agreement with Truth Social, owned by TMTG, which mandates that his content remain solely on the platform for six hours before being shared elsewhere.
Yet, Trump's activity on X has been virtually nonexistent since 2021 – long before Musk acquired the platform in October 2022. His only posts since then were his Fulton County mugshot and a link to his website last August. Musk's overtures to Trump go beyond financial backing.
Trump has also remained inactive on Meta-owned platforms Instagram and Facebook, despite Meta lifting its post-Jan. 6 ban in 2023. His continued loyalty to Truth Social highlights the enduring influence of his exclusive deal – even as Musk rolls out the red carpet for his return.
