And this wasn’t some little paperwork issue — as a matter of fact, AlHusseini was accused of pulling off a $150 million fraud tied to a green energy scam. According to Rosiak’s findings, AlHusseini allegedly moved hundreds of millions overseas and dodged court appearances like they were nothing. To make matters worse, the timing couldn’t be sketchier and the silence from the DOJ was deafening. And thanks to this quiet little dismissal, a man with deep pockets and tightly wound Dem ties might’ve slipped right through the cracks — just before the door slammed shut on the Obama’s third term. The damning fact pattern suggests the “acting” US attorney may have tried to erase a big Dem scandal before Trump took over. Acting US Attorney McNally of the Central District of CA dismissed the case against Ibrahim AlHusseini Jan 21 even though -Jan 10, a judge held him in contempt for donating to Dem pols instead of paying what he owes -Jan 8, a bench warrant was issued after AlHusseini missed court AlHusseini allegedly transferred $300M to Saudi Arabia immediately after causing an investor to lose $150M via fake financial docs. He was held in jail as a flight risk until CodePink founder Jodie Evans put up her home as bail. Evans also no-showed Jan 7 after being subpoenaed. McNally would not explain why he dropped charges. Trump’s DOJ could reinstate them, but bail was also dropped, giving AlHusseini the chance to leave the country first. (He was arrested initially at the airport, and listed his address as Lebanon in court docs.)

Ibrahim AlHusseini, who has fashioned himself an environmentalist star and Hollywood playboy, gave more than $300,000 to Democrats and was a lead investor in a “socially conscious” finance firm backed by actor Leonardo DiCaprio called Aspiration Inc. The longtime CodePink board member had been heralded as proof that “reversing the climate crisis can be profitable.” But the FBI said AlHusseini falsified financial documents to inflate their value by nearly $200 million. AlHusseini was arrested at the Los Angeles airport on October 7 and held in jail due to the “serious risk [the] defendant will flee” after his alleged victim said he’d transferred $300 million to his native Saudi Arabia. He was released in December because wealthy environmentalists, including the co-founder of CodePink, Jodie Evans, put up their homes as his bail. But Acting U.S. Attorney Joseph McNally used the window between the resignation of Joe Biden’s U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California and the installation of Trump’s replacement, which has not yet occurred, to make the case go away without explanation.

This doesn’t sound like your run-of-the-mill shady financial scandal — it’s seeming to paint a very clear picture of how deep the corruption runs when politics, power, and privilege collide. A Dem mega-donor, Hollywood elites and a so-called environmental crusader — protected by the very system that should’ve held him accountable. More Dem lawfare, working to protect them at all costs. And thanks to that conveniently timed dismissal from an acting US attorney, Ibrahim AlHusseini likely just slipped through the cracks for good. He’s likely long gone.
