President Joe Biden allegedly could not recognize familiar faces at the North Atlantic Treaty Organization's (NATO) 75th anniversary summit in Washington, D.C. held last July 9 to 11, according to an attendee. Ian Bremmer, president of the political risk consultancy firm Eurasia Group, disclosed this in a July 9 appearance on the MSNBC program "Katy Tur Reports." He attended the summit and talked to several world leaders. According to Bremmer, most of the world leaders he encountered at the summit "don't think [Biden] can serve another four years." He told program host Katy Tur that the sentiment is true across the political spectrum, regardless of political ideology, and that Biden's cognitive decline "isn't news to them." "The vast majority of the foreign leaders that are here in Washington right now, they want Biden to win," said Bremmer. "[But] right now, they mostly think he won't. [They're concerned about how he could] campaign effectively for another four months, never mind carry out four more years after that – and again, they won't say that publicly because they are allies." (Related: House Republicans declare Biden "unfit," accuse Democrats of mental decline "coverup.") According to the Eurasia Group president, many of the world leaders have seen Biden's "deterioration" from spending time with him at various global meetings and conferences. He recounted one world leader telling him that Biden was "repeating the same anecdote twice in an individual meeting." Another instance recounted by Bremmer involved Biden "not recognizing someone that he knew quite well."

Biden's mental decline a NATIONAL SECURITY issue

The world leaders' doubts don't come from a place of disdain, but from deep concern. "It's not that they don't like him," Bremmer told Tur. "In fact, they are deeply concerned … about what it would mean if [former President Donald] Trump were to become president [again] given his stated policies on Russia, Ukraine, NATO and the European Union." Bremmer also pointed out that NATO leaders' concern over the next U.S. presidency has bled into many conversation. According to the group's latest estimates, Washington is on track to contribute $755 billion – 3.38 percent of its gross domestic product – in 2024. Some NATO members seem to be preparing for a second Trump presidency. Defense ministers from the Baltic States – Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania – signaled they are anticipating the real estate mogul's return to the White House during the first days of the summit. The Eurasia Group president ultimately remarked: "[With countries] on the front line with a war where the Russians have invaded Ukraine and NATO is standing up, they feel like they have a lot more at stake with this U.S. election than most Americans do. This is a matter of actual national security in their minds." Head over to JoeBiden.news for more stories about the current president's mental decline.
