The sentencing date has been set a few days before the RNC Convention in Wisconsin. Trump is currently at the mercy of Judge Merchan, with the potential sentence being up to four years in jail for each of the 34 charges. Merchan is a Columbian immigrant whose daughter is president of a political consulting firm that works closely with Democratic candidates.
