Ohio sheriff warns of impending terror attacks, calls for preparation and training of locals
A sheriff from Ohio has warned about impending
terror attacks on America and has called for the local community to prepare and train for this coming threat.
Sheriff Richard "Rick" Jones from Butler County, Ohio recently held a press conference after returning from the National Sheriffs' Association in Washington D.C. to alert local citizens and reporters about what 3,000 local sheriffs were told by
Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Christopher Wray.
Jones, who talked about what he learned, including threats to the United States and "need-to-know information" during the conference, said the sheriffs were told by Wray that there are more "red flags" going off now than before the September 11 terror attacks.
"When I say
red flags, meaning people that are here in this country that are wanting to do harm to us. There are thousands of people here from other countries, 160 different countries. They are not here to be our friends. Some of them are coming because they want to come here to the best country in the world. The way we see it
some are coming here to do harm to us," said Jones.
The Butler County sheriff added that the U.S. is currently in a terrible state because it is only focusing on defense and not doing offense. He lamented that the American government is supplying weapons and money to other countries, but it is not doing much back home.
Jones added they were told by the federal government that an attack on national and local elections would happen.
"They encouraged us to talk to our local election officials and be prepared as much as they can for cyberattacks. Even locally you have to be prepared. We've been told that again, they're coming here to do harm to us," Jones said.
The veteran sheriff from Ohio pointed out the American people won't be able to call and ask for help from the federal government because they are going to be busy along with the military and National Guard when the
9/11-like attacks happen.
Russia, China and Iran are conducting cyberattacks against America
He added that the Russians are suspected of hacking American computer systems. Jones said this is being done to hurt the American people and cause chaos in the country.
The former combat engineer also revealed that aside from the Russians attacking computer systems, the Chinese, along with the Iranians, have also tried to hack the cyber system in Butler County. "Now are they doing that to help us and be our friends? No, they are not. They are trying to disrupt everything that we do. And this next election coming up, they are trying to do the same," Jones warned.
According to Jones, the Butler County sheriff's department is providing rifles in every police vehicle that they have in addition to a go-bag and extra magazines. He added that they are going to
start training civilians on what to do when disasters and emergencies happen. (Related:

"We've offered classes to train civilians and we are going to start training civilians on what to do when disasters hit and emergencies hit," Jones said.
He explained that they are trying to train more civilians not to cause fear and panic but to make the public aware that America is already under attack. His department is also trying to reach out to the private industry to get help detecting and stopping drone attacks.
Jones has also contacted State Representatives Sara Carruthers and Cindy Abrams to ask the state to introduce three pieces of legislation.
The first one is about the creation of a Border Security Task Force to address the problem on the northern border; the second is about the formation of a full-time 24-hour-a-day cybersecurity department under a cybersecurity czar; and the third piece of legislation is for illegal migrants to be arrested and charged with state felony for being in Ohio illegally.
