Israel could be just days away from launching a full-scale invasion of the southern Gaza city of Rafah, pending the release of an Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) evacuation plan for civilians. Despite continued warnings from many that such an assault threatens to unleash mass genocide against Rafah's roughly 1.3 million occupants, Israel appears determined to get those bombs dropping as soon as possible. "It is impossible to achieve the war goal of eliminating Hamas and leaving four Hamas battalions in Rafah," bellowed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in defiance of warnings from the Biden regime and others. "On the other hand, it is clear that a massive operation in Rafah requires the evacuation of the civilian population from the combat zones." More than half of the Gaza Strip is currently under evacuation orders, and much of the territory is now a pile of rubble. Where all these civilians will go remains a mystery. "No war can be allowed in a giant refugee camp," said Jan Egeland, secretary general of the Norwegian Refugee Council, warning that a "bloodbath" will ensue if Netanyahu proceeds with his genocidal plan. United Nations (UN) spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric added that while civilians in Rafah do need protection, forcing them to be displaced by the tens of thousands or millions is simply not an option – because where are they all supposed to go? Israel's military response in Gaza "over the top"

Prior to Israel's invasion of Gaza after October 7, the population of Rafah was only a couple hundred thousand people. Today, it is around 1.3 million because hundreds of thousands of refugees from northern Gaza fled to Rafah at the order of Israel, believing they would find shelter there. After these refugees arrived in southern Gaza where Israel told them they would be safe, Israel has proceeded to start bombing southern Gaza as well. Commenting on everything that has transpired since October 7, President Biden called Israel's military response in Gaza "over the top," calling for a "sustained pause" in the fighting. "I'm of the view, as you know, that the conduct of the response in the Gaza Strip has been over the top," Biden is quoted as saying to reporters. Biden outlined three goals for the region that include normalizing U.S. relations with Saudi Arabia, increasing humanitarian aid for Palestinian civilians, and pausing all fighting temporarily to allow for the release of hostages captured by Hamas. "I'm pushing very hard now to deal with this hostage ceasefire," Biden said. "There are a lot of innocent people who are starving, a lot of innocent people who are in trouble and dying, and it's got to stop." A day prior to Israel's bombing in Rafah on Super Bowl Sunday, U.S. National Security Council (NSC) spokesman John Kirby warned that any assault without due consideration for civilians would be a disaster and something that the U.S. "would not support." U.S. State Department spokesman Vedant Patel said much the same, warning that such an offensive "with no planning and little thought in an area where there is sheltering of a million people would be a disaster." Up until this point, the Biden regime has largely supported Israel, but things have changed now that it is clear Israel is paying no regard for Palestinian civilians. In many ways, it appears as though Israel wants Palestinian civilians to die as part of the military operation. "The situation is becoming more and more tense, more and more confusing," commented Philippe Lazzarini, head of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees. "Any large-scale military operation among this population can only lead to an additional layer of endless tragedy that's unfolding, and that we witness on a daily basis."
