Note that there has not been one single month in at least the past five years where more than one or two incidents like this, at a maximum, occurred at recycling facilities. And yet just in the past 30 days, there have been nine separate fire incidents, all at recycling centers. Here is a list of locations where recycling facilities caught fire just since the start of August: • August 1: The Vinton Steel recycling plant in Vinton, Tex., caught fire with no injuries reported • August 3: A recycling center in Jacksonville, Fla., caught fire, resulting in major road closures • August 6: A recycling center in Mesa Del Sol near Albuquerque, N.M., caught fire and burned "very hot, very quickly" due to large amounts of plastic onsite • August 9: A recycling center in Oakland, Calif., caught fire that "fouled" the air of the East Bay • August 11: A recycling center in Brockton, Mass., caught fire, causing no injuries • August 11: The Spring Branch recycling plant in Houston caught fire, resulting in at least one person having to be treated for smoke inhalation • August 12: A recycling plant in Glendale, Ariz., near Phoenix caught fire, resulting in major street closures • August 12: A Boston salvage yard caught fire, sending massive plumes of smoke over Hyde Park • August 16: The aforementioned recycling plant in Pensacola, Fla., caught fire (Related: Check out our earlier coverage about the mysterious spate of food factory fires that occurred all last year, almost like someone is trying to take down America's food system.)?#BREAKING: Numerous firefighters are batting a massive fire at a recycling center ⁰⁰?#Pensacola | #Florida⁰⁰Right now multiple Firefighters are currently working to control a massive fire at a recycling center in Pensacola Florida.
