A Walt Disney whistleblower dropped a bomb about how the entertainment conglomerate requires its employees to maintain Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Virtue diaries. The anonymous informant further revealed that the "journals" determine who will be promoted, given raises and even keep their job or who will be "systemically persecuted" based on their wokeness level.
YouTuber WDW Pro acquired documents from the whistleblower and published them, as seen below:
"It is now our understanding that at Disney since the summer of 2020, many employees of the company have been required to maintain their various virtuous actions within diversity, equity, and inclusion. And that diary of their 'good deeds' was part of maintaining their job security, but not only that but in fact it was also tied to their job compensation if you can believe it. We're talking about bonuses that you might not receive if you went afoul of Latondra Newton, the prior Chief Diversity Officer of Disney if you went afoul of her belief systems."
Newton just left her role, ending a six-year stint that generated controversies as the Mouse House adopted "woke" policies that have alienated many of its core customers.
During her tenure, the entertainment giant was stuck in the middle of the nation's culture wars by introducing gay, lesbian, transgender, non-binary, and other minority characters into its animated series and films. Disney instituted a slew of other changes, such as outfitting Minnie Mouse with a blue pantsuit instead of her traditional red and white polka-dot dress. The company also ditched "fairy godmothers" for more "gender-neutral titles" at dress-up boutiques in theme parks. Employees who were formerly called "Fairy Godmothers in Training" are now called "Fairy Godmother's Apprentices." (Related: Fairy DRAG-mother: Cross-dressing man selling dresses to girls in Disneyland, the WOKEST place on Earth.)
"This way, cast members that might not identify as female can still be part of the process to dress up and style the children without having to refer to themselves as a female Disney character," according to the Disney blog "Streaming the Magic."
According to the Gateway Pundit, those who objected to Newton's ideals would be sent to HR to be "re-educated." "Starting in the summer of 2020 and moving forward until today, if you espouse political beliefs in the workplace, or outside the workplace, or on social media and those political or sociocultural beliefs did not align with very far left views then you could expect to be sent to HR to have some serious conversations and discussions," the whistleblower further exposed.
WDW Pro also added that Newton had an assistant carry out the dirty work by instituting a process by which to hire people based on DEI principles, with the main goal of "elbowing" conservative candidates.
Axios and Harris survey: Disney's wokeness makes it fifth most polarizing company
The Axios and Harris Poll survey last month found that Disney's reputation has suffered due to its wading into polarizing topics including transgender and sexual identity issues. It placed at the fifth spot of most polarizing company, a metric that is measured by the gap between the reputational score among Democrats and Republicans.
The multinational mass media firm went down 12 spots to rank 77th in this year's "Axios and Harris Poll 100," which is based on a survey of 16,310 Americans from a nationally representative sample conducted from March 13 to 28.
The company has been facing various legal battles with GOP presidential hopeful Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis after publicly opposing the governor's so-called "Don't Say Gay" legislation, a law that sought to limit sex and gender identity education in the public elementary school system. The governor also moved to strip Disney of its semi-autonomous status which confers it wide-ranging authority to levy taxes and shape zoning regulations on the Central Florida land where its resorts and amusement parks are located. Disney responded to this by suing the Sunshine State governor and his GOP allies in the state legislature for violating the company's First Amendment rights.
