At UFO hearing, lawmakers and witnesses accuse Pentagon of an alien "cover up"

Whether real or not, aliens and unidentified flying objects (UFO), also known as unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP), need to be transparently dealt with by the Pentagon to avoid looking like some kind of government cover up. This was sentiment expressed at this week's UFO hearing by the House Oversight subcommittee on national security, which wants the Pentagon to be more forthcoming about its UAP program – which, yes, does exist. For whatever reason, the Pentagon devotes a sizable amount of money and resources to its UAP program, the details of which whistleblower David Grusch says are not making their way onto the radars of the American people who are paying for it. Grusch claims the government at large is withholding critical information about its UAP program that people have a right to know. Though he could not share the details publicly as they are confidential, Grusch assured Congress that they are explosive. Rep. Glenn Grothman (R-Wisc.), who chaired the hearing, expressed interest in the matter, saying that he looks forward to collecting more such information in private from Grusch and others while drafting legislation to force the government to be more honest with We the People about its UAP program. (Related: Air Force veteran Robert Salas testified that alien UFOs have turned off nuclear warheads and shot test missiles out of the sky at U.S. bases.)

The nearly 200 UAP incidents that the government says are "unexplained" actually have an explanation, contends Rep. Moskowitz

Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-Fla.) also spoke at the hearing, revealing that he, too, believes the Pentagon is hiding key evidence on some 200 different UAP incidents that the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) claims are "unexplained." Moskowitz referred directly to a 2022 report from the ODNI claiming that known instances of UAP sightings that "appear to have demonstrated unusual flight characteristics or performance capabilities." The Pentagon knows more about these unusual flights than it is letting on, in his view. While it is true that some of the sightings are without any explanation, at least that we know of, at least 171 of those 200 sightings fall into a much broader "other" category that Moskowitz says the government knows a lot more about, but is refusing to disclose. "I believe more information is known about those instances," Moskowitz said. "It's time for Congress to reinsert ourselves." Other key takeaways from the hearing include a common agreement between both major political parties that Congress must do more to investigate the UAP situation, and demand that the executive branch be more forthcoming. "We're going to uncover the cover-up, and I hope this is just the beginning of many more hearings and many more people coming forward about this," said Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.). According to the Pentagon's All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office, which Congress created just last year to investigate UFO incidents, the Pentagon has investigated about 800 reports of UAP phenomena as of May. "If everyone could see the sensor and video data I witnessed, our national conversation would change," added Ryan Graves, a former Navy pilot who says he encountered UAPs while on training missions. "I urge us to put aside stigma and address the security and safety issue this topic represents. If UAP are foreign drones, it is an urgent national security problem. If it is something else, it is an issue for science. In either case, unidentified objects are a concern for flight safety. The American people deserve to know what is happening in our skies. It is long overdue." Do you think there are aliens and UFOs the government is trying to hide? Learn more at Unexplained.news. Sources for this article include: TheHill.com Newstarget.com CBSNews.com
