The Biden regime's Department of Energy (DoE) wants to
jack up the price of water heaters in the United States to advance the so-called "green" agenda.
In addition to trying to outlaw gas stoves and gas generators, the Pedophile-in-Chief is proposing that new technology be forced into the design of all water heaters that will make the units much more expensive.
All electric water heaters will need to come equipped with heat pump technology while all gas water heaters will need to use condensing technology. Any respective water heater that does not include these forced technologies would be outlawed starting in 2029.
According to the DoE, the proposed new dictates will somehow save consumers $11.4 billion every year on their energy and water bills while reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 501 million metric tons over 30 years.
"Today's actions – together with our industry partners and stakeholders – improve outdated efficiency standards for common household appliances, which is essential to slashing utility bills for American families and cutting harmful carbon emissions," said Canadian-born Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm.
"This proposal reinforces the trajectory of consumer savings that forms the key pillar of Bidenomics."

Republican congressman tells Biden: "Leave us alone"
Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) was quick to shoot down the proposal on Twitter, now known as "X." An engineer with two degrees from MIT, and whose Kentucky ranch is completely off the grid, Massie regularly shares tips and tricks online about how people can become energy independent.
"Leave us alone," Massie tweeted to the Biden regime about its efforts to basically ban everyone's home appliances.
"These products already exist in the free market. Consumers should decide whether the upfront costs of a heat-pump water heater is worth the possible long term savings. In many cases, the monthly savings never make up for the upfront cost of the equipment."
Massie would go on in another tweet to explain why heat-pump water heaters are not that great in terms of saving energy, especially in northern climates that get really cold winter weather.
"That's because they extract heat from the surrounding air ... warm air that your furnace will have to work harder to replace," Massie wrote. "There's 'no free lunch' from these water heaters in the winter."
Conversely, a number of efficiency and environmental groups were quick to endorse the proposed Biden plan, as was water heater manufacturer Rheem, which stands to benefit from the new regulations as they will force smaller, weaker competitors to spend lots of money and new research and development into how to attain compliance.
"Rheem has been part of a broad coalition to offer important recommendations to inform the development of the new proposed standards," said Rheem SVP Greg Miller.
Tankless water heater manufacturer Rinnai is one such competitor that issued a statement saying that the new standards are "technologically impossible," and will result in a much narrower range of choices for consumers.
"You'll have no water or hot water and you'll love it," one commenter joked, borrowing from the infamous trope of World Economic Forum (WEF) head Klaus Schwab who stated that in the future, everyone (besides himself and his fellow globalists) will "own nothing and be happy."
"How am I going to cook my bugs with no hot water?" joked another.
Numerous others asked why Congress continues to allow these kinds of proposals to be rammed through, especially since their constituents overwhelmingly oppose the communistic ideals that are driving them into the mainstream.
