The Resistance Chicks Leah and Michelle Svensson
questioned the alleged presence of a top executive of the Open Society Foundation (OSF) in the transition team of Brazilian President-elect Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. The OSF is headed by globalist billionaire financier George Soros.
Leah read an article on the
Gateway Pundit, which revealed that Soros "
has been heavily invested in Brazil ever since buying into the criminally corrupt state-owned oil giant Petroleo Brasileiro (PetroBras) in 2008." Petrobras eventually became entangled with Operation Car Wash, the biggest corruption scandal in Brazilian history.
Back in August 2008, Soros' Quantum Fund
invested $811 million in PetroBras. This deal, which constituted 22 percent of Quantum's holdings at the time, served as the investment fund's largest holding.
The
Gateway Pundit article revealed that Pedro Abramovay, OSF executive director for Latin America and the Caribbean, served as an adviser to former Brazilian Justice Minister Marcio Thomaz Bastos during Lula's first term as president from 2003 to 2011. Abramovay later played a role in Lula's installation following the country's 2022 polls.
According to the Resistance Chicks, Bastos helped Lula appoint many of the far-left justices in Brazil's Supreme Federal Court. Brazilian news outlet
Antagonista reported back in 2018 that Bastos, in his capacity as a lawyer, represented several companies involved in Operation Car Wash. Moreover, the former justice minister was earlier accused of money laundering.
Bastos died in November 2014 with an estimated $73 million fortune. The far-left magistrates he helped appoint were accused of whitewashing the fraudulent election that saw Lula win against his predecessor Jair Bolsonaro. (Related:

Lula exonerated in preparation for his 2022 presidential run
In the same year as Bastos' death, the full extent of Operation Car Wash came to light. By March 2015, federal prosecutors had formally accused 110 people of corruption, money laundering and other financial crimes. As a result of mismanagement and graft in connection with Operation Car Wash, PetroBras lost a total of $17 billion.
Police raided Lula's home in March 2016, and he was charged with money laundering in the same year. Former Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff, Lula's successor, attempted to make the leftist candidate her chief of staff to grant him immunity against prosecution. But over a million Brazilians opposed the move and called for Rousseff's impeachment.
Rousseff was formally impeached on April 17, 2016 after more than two-thirds of lawmakers at the Chamber of Deputies – including her former allies – voted to remove her from power.
"Lula was considered the mastermind of the scandal and was charged with accepting bribes worth $1.1 million. In July [2016], Lula was convicted of fraud and money laundering, and sentenced to 10 years in prison, later increased to 12," the
Gateway Pundit report stated.
"Lula should be ineligible to run for president as a convicted criminal, but the pro-Lula Supreme [Federal] Court vacated the charges in 2021 in a transparent move to install their candidate and ally."
"Now this is the mob bosses covering for the mob bosses," remarked Leah. "Lula actually was in jail for corruption, [but] the Supreme [Federal] Court commuted his sentence so he could come out and run for president."
According to Leah, this is why the Brazilian people are upset and protesting in the streets.
"This isn't just Lula. Their whole upper echelons in government and their Supreme [Federal] Court were put in by Lula, [alongside] these advisors from George Soros' foundation. [It's]
this far-left corruption [at the] elitist Deep State in Brazil," Leah said.
